We’ve learned new details about the game from Saber Interactive, who recently split from the Embracer Group and became independent, but not exactly from someone on the Internet giving us more details about it, but from a “factory” source telling us what we can expect in the Warhammer 40K universe.
Announced at The Game Awards 2021, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 (which will be a sequel to Relic Entertainment’s 2011 title) will be a third-person shooter, with an official art book that has been leaked and from which we’ve learned a lot of unannounced features. A three-player co-op story mode, big epic battle scenes, we can expect those for sure, but now we’re also hearing new details thanks to the leak.

On Reddit, YouTube user prdalien0 showed off the art book that will be included in the collector’s edition of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 in its entirety on Google’s video-sharing site, and we embedded it. (In case it gets deleted, we’ve already downloaded it; we’ve posted a copy on Krakenfiles). The book reveals that there will be a PvP mode, something Saber Interactive hasn’t revealed yet. The mode is called Marine X Marine Only, and we will be able to customize our banner and clan, but the book didn’t give any more details about that. Mission selection and character development will take place in a central hub-like area, and this is where you will be taken in each section.
Many enemy, boss, and map looks have also been leaked from Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. There will be several types of dangerous Chaos Space Marines and Tyrandis, and the book even shows vehicles, weapons and other interactive objects (boltgun, knife…). In any case, the PvP mode is the most important, and the inspiration of Gears of War (when the first part came out 13 years ago, it was one of Microsoft’s biggest franchises!
