Blizzard et Diablo 4 lancent un jeu-concours permettant aux joueurs de gagner un PC infusé de sang humain

Blizzard and Diablo 4 are launching a sweepstakes where players can win a PC infused with human blood.

The sweepstakes, sponsored by Diablo 4, will award one lucky player with a human blood-infused gaming PC. The action-RPG adventure game has never been shy about unorthodox promotional tactics. In a previous Diablo 4 promotion, players were treated to a eulogy read by Hollywood celebrity Megan Fox. For the most part, Blizzard knew how to keep its marketing strategies timely and relevant to its properties.

Now that Diablo 4’s Season of Blood is currently underway, it’s not too much of a surprise that Blizzard would roll out another marketing ploy to promote the game. The new season introduces new content and addresses many of the major complaints of the previous season. As the name suggests, the focus this time is on blood, specifically vampire hunting missions and new vampire powers. Interestingly, one of the key promotions tied to the season deals with brand response.

Diablo 4 will allow players to join a sweepstakes that will reward one lucky player with a high-end gaming PC infused with real human blood. The “Blood Harvest” event will run until November 20, and will give players in the United States the opportunity to donate blood at any blood bank to fill an online blood fountain by uploading proof of their blood donation. Said fountain will distribute in-game rewards for every 222 quarts of confirmed blood donations. For a certain percentage of the target blood donation goal, players will be able to earn “Bloodpetal” weapon cosmetics, the Vermillion Eye Piebald and the Loch Raeth Maor Barbarian set. Upon reaching the goal, the sweepstakes will also be unlocked so all players can try to win a gaming PC through the sweepstakes, including those who have not donated. While it has not been disclosed how much blood went into the PC, the gimmicky nature may catch the attention of many fans.

This is not the first time Diablo-inspired prizes have been given out. Recently, Xbox gave gamers the chance to win a Diablo 4-inspired Xbox Series X. While this item may not be as out of this world as the blood-soaked PC, it was still spectacular and an effective marketing ploy, even if the Series X didn’t work. With collectibles like this, huge fans could really make a name for themselves if they won the prize.

Amidst all these promotions, Diablo 4 has received some criticism from Steam users. While the franchise continues to post record-breaking sales numbers, negative feedback has followed. It’s a difficult balancing act that Blizzard has to strike to appease fans and provide a quality service. Hopefully, non-Diablo players can look past the critical bombardment and try the game for themselves. The tournaments and events that the team will be hosting should be able to hook casual players to take a look and enjoy the title.

Diablo 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
