Concord : ce ne sera pas bon marché

Sony itself has leaked how much it will charge for the game, which is being developed by Firewalk Studios and will feature 5v5 team battles.

On the ResetEra forum before the start of pre-orders, it was revealed how much Sony will charge for Concord. On the PlayStation Store in Australia, the base version of the game will cost 60 Australian dollars and the Digital Deluxe Edition will cost 95 Australian dollars. The base and Super Citizen editions of Helldivers 2 will cost the same “down under”. In the United States, Helldivers 2 costs $40 and $60 respectively, so you’ll have to pay the same for Concord. The company is looking to expand among live service titles, and Concord is trying to be another pillar of that (Helldivers 2 is another, but more successful).

The Concord Digital Deluxe Edition includes sixteen characters, the Monarch Pack, and the unfortunately fashionable Early Release, which means that those who buy the more expensive version of the game can start playing three days earlier (Steam already calls it something else, we reported on this in the news). The gameplay was revealed at last week’s State of Play and quickly disappointed some of the audience who were hoping for a single player sci-fi adventure, but Firewalk Studios is essentially developing the complete opposite.

So Concord is part of Sony’s Live Service expansion, with a beta coming soon, followed by a launch. New “vignettes” will be added weekly, so you’ll soon be able to learn more about the characters. The question is whether this will attract enough people to play regularly, because it’s not very compelling.

So the beta for Concord will be sometime in July, with the full game coming out on August 23 for PlayStation 5 and PC (and those who buy the Digital Deluxe Edition can start on August 20).
