Gaming Copilot Is Coming to Xbox Consoles Later This Year

Microsoft is one of the many technology companies dedicating part of its resources and efforts to developing Artificial Intelligence models. Its digital assistant, Copilot, has already been applied to a good handful of devices and is now preparing to land definitively on the current generation of Xbox consoles. In fact, this implementation will not be long in coming, and the team will continue working to bring its AI to more popular services among players.

This was announced by Sonali Yadav, group product manager for AI gaming partners at Xbox, at a GDC panel. When speaking about the AI assistant and its implementation in the video game ecosystem, Yadav noted that “this year, we will bring Gaming Copilot to the current generation of consoles and will continue integrating it into more services that players use.” Although no specific mention is made of the platforms to which the system will be applied, it is to be assumed that the idea is to push it on Xbox Series X|S.

An AI That Will Share Guides and Tips

Now, what exactly is Gaming Copilot for and how does it benefit the player? According to the explanations provided by Microsoft, the AI assistant wants to establish itself as an optional digital guide for players. In this way, and taking examples shared by the company, players will be able to ask Gaming Copilot for crafting recipes to obtain tools in Minecraft and tips to improve their performance in competitive titles such as Overwatch. Additionally, it is worth noting that the Artificial Intelligence system has not been designed solely for digital titles. Microsoft has indicated that Gaming Copilot can also answer questions relating to gaming history, account details, or the status of subscriptions.

There are players who already know the features of Gaming Copilot. After all, the technology has already been applied to other devices belonging to the Xbox ecosystem and some users have been testing its possibilities in beta phase. In fact, Yadav makes mention of this stage of the system, noting that “we learned a lot last year and appreciate all the feedback we have received from the community.” Therefore, Xbox console players will also be able to experiment with Microsoft‘s AI assistant within a matter of months.
