Based on an ESRB rating and the events of the latest installment in the franchise, it’s possible to figure out when the game, which recently received a special broadcast, might be released.
The US ratings board ESRB has given Silent Hill an f rating. In addition to the usual description of the game’s content, the rating can also give an indication of the release date. The ESRB confirms that the game is a third-person survival game with exploration, puzzles, and interaction with NPCs. You can fight the furries in melee combat with an axe, crowbar, knife, or spear. Some of our enemies will be able to stab (or pierce…) Hinako in the neck or tear her face apart. There are bloody scenes: a character can be burned alive, but the ESRB even mentioned amputation, and of course there will be partial nudity.
But the timing is interesting. One day after the broadcast of Silent Hill Transmission (Silent Hill f was discussed here, and we reported about the game a few days ago), the ESRB rating came out. It has been rated in Japan (CERO put it in the Z category), but not yet in South Korea! For comparison, Silent Hill 2 Remake was rated ESRB on April 1 last year (and released in South Korea on February 29), and was released on October 8 for PlayStation 5 and PC (the Xbox Series release is a year away at the earliest), so it’s possible that Silent Hill f will arrive in the third quarter of this year, sometime between July and September for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC, so it could be July or August…
NeoBards Entertainment, the developers of Silent Hill f, previously created Resident Evil: Resistance and Resident Evil Re:Verse. These were multiplayer spin-offs with mandatory player support alongside Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil: Village. Compared to this, a big change for them will be the dual launch of the third-person survival horror…
