Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2: Senua’s Icelandic Adventure Gets a Physical Release!

As we reported earlier, the game will be available on the PlayStation 5. There will also be a disc version, which has been missing until now.

Xbox Game Studios and Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will finally be available in physical form to coincide with the upcoming PlayStation 5 port. Last year, the game was released for Xbox Series and PC, but only digitally. This meant that Microsoft had scrapped the console disc release. In connection with the PlayStation 5 port, however, the ESRB has listed a physical version of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 that will be published by Limited Run Games and provide a Blu-ray version for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

According to another ESRB listing, Limited Run will also produce a physical version of the first installment, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, for the Nintendo Switch. Limited Run Games is known for its disc- and cartridge-based products, and, as the name suggests, the games are produced in limited editions. Embracer Group acquired the company in 2022 through its subsidiary Freemode. Incidentally, the Embracer Group is operating under a new name (and will sell Coffee Stain), so THQ Nordic AB will become Fellowship Entertainment.

Ninja Theory hasn’t revealed many details about the new features we can expect on the PlayStation 5. They hinted at DualSense support, but that’s about it. Will the PlayStation 5 Pro have stronger visuals than the Xbox Series X? Will there be new graphics modes? Something should have been said, as this leaves the public in the dark until the release date is announced.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was released on May 21, 2024, for Xbox Series and PC. It will arrive on the PlayStation 5 “sometime this summer,” and the physical edition will be released simultaneously for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
