Bad News for Titan Quest II!

Grimlore Games and THQ Nordic have missed their previously announced early access release window, forcing a change in the project timeline.

Here’s how THQ Nordic explained the delay: “Originally planned for a Winter 2024/2025 release, Titan Quest II will now enter early access in Summer 2025. This decision comes in response to the crowded action-RPG release window and a desire to give the game the spotlight it deserves. The Grimlore team expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming response to the recent demo. Thousands of players participated, streamed, and filled out surveys, with over 92% rating their experience as positive or very positive. Especially encouraging were the comments from long-time Titan Quest fans who praised how the game captured the spirit of the original while moving forward with modern systems.”

Players got to explore the game’s opening chapter, choose from dual masteries, and face the first boss, Appollonia the Terrible, which proved to be a fan favorite. Visuals and audio received outstanding marks, averaging 5.25/6 and 5.16/6 respectively. Exploration and environmental storytelling were also frequently highlighted as standout features.

Nevertheless, the team acknowledges that some areas need refinement. Improvements are already underway for combat fluidity, skill targeting, and overall balance, while performance optimization continues. Based on community feedback, new features are being developed, including customizable control schemes and enhanced UI indicators.

Grimlore Games reaffirmed its commitment to creating a true successor to Titan Quest, one that honors the franchise’s legacy while evolving for a new generation of players. “The developers are actively applying feedback and refining features ahead of the early access launch,” the publisher added.

Titan Quest II will launch in early access sometime this summer on PC via Steam, and the full release will likely be delayed accordingly. The game is also planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms.
