Diablo IV va collaborer avec un anime qui a commencé par un manga ! [VIDÉO]

We’ve seen two instances in Blizzard’s content development roadmap where Blizzard IV will be collaborating with a new IP; we’ve got one of them.

When the Diablo IV content expansion plan was released, the collaboration with a new IP came up twice. Of course, this doesn’t specify who Microsoft-owned Blizzard’s game will be collaborating with, and we can think of extremes in a heartbeat, but the first collaboration was announced, and while it may seem like an unusual choice at first, when you think about the collaboration a little more, the picture becomes clearer as the two IPs fit together.

Diablo IV and Diablo Immortal intersect with Berserk, a popular dark fantasy manga and anime series with a mood very similar to the heavy metal aesthetic of Diablo. Berserk may not be familiar to everyone, but we’ve seen it in other forms, as FromSoftware has drawn quite a bit from it. The Japanese studio is not alone in this, as every fantasy saga featuring an oversized sword-fighting character has taken its cues from Berserk.

There are examples of much worse choices (when The Witcher appeared in Raiders of the Lost Ark, it could be called forgettable), but the appearance of Hellboy and TMNT (Teenage Ninja Turtles) in Injustice 2 was a clever idea, and the appearance of Fallout cards in Magic: The Gathering was also a great idea. Blizzard hasn’t revealed what form the Diablo and Berserk collaboration will take, but we can at least expect some appropriately stylish cosmetic items for our barbarian. Also, there will almost certainly be a ridiculously large two-handed sword, since that’s part of Berserk.

So Berserk was a decent choice of possible IPs, but they still have the option to screw up the second one, because if something completely out of place in the franchise pops up, we can only chuckle in embarrassment.
