Fares, best known for winning an Oscar at The Game Awards, has been able to keep his next game a secret until now.
It Takes Two was a huge success for filmmaker turned game director Fares and his studio Hazelight Studios. The team’s next game was reported by Billbil-kun, so what we see on French website Dealabs is highly credible, as the same leaker was behind the PlayStation Plus (Essential) games listing…
Hazelight Studios had previously developed other titles (A Way Out, Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons) with Fares as the designer. All the games were published by Electronic Arts under its Originals division. According to Billbil-kun, the next game will be called Split Fiction. The announcement will be made at The Game Awards, and we’ll even see a trailer later this month, according to the leaker, who also has a release date. According to him, the game will be released on March 6 for PC and consoles. Will the PlayStation 4/Xbox One pair get it, or will the studio focus on the PlayStation 5/Xbox Series pair?
Getting a lot of questions about the next game. Here is a tease. It is a BRAND NEW IP called S**** ******N. Can’t wait to show it soon🔥

Split Fiction is, as the name suggests, another cooperative adventure game, and with the huge success of It Takes Two, it’s not a bad idea for the studio to stick with that direction. We have heard that Hazelight is working on a new game, and Fares has hinted at it on social media alongside the studio. Fares wrote in October: “Here’s a teaser. It’s a BRAND NEW IP called S**** ******N. Can’t wait to show you soon.” Well, the name we heard in the leak fits perfectly…
If Josef Fares will be at The Game Awards again in person, we can’t wait to see what style he will present his next game. He seems like an honest, raw man, and that’s what makes him stand out!
