And rumor has it that he will not be the main antagonist in the latest Call of Duty, which will not be released as Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War.
However, given what the rumors have been about so far, what has just surfaced makes perfect sense. Rumor has it that the Gulf War will be the key plot element in Microsoft’s cash cow (they now own Activision Blizzard, so it will be their money maker). We need to dig into some history to get the full picture.
The Gulf War was sparked by Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait on August 2, 1990, which he managed to completely occupy in two days. It was one of the most talked about wars in the Middle East, and it also led to some of the biggest tank battles in the history of the United States between 1990 and 1991 (the events ended on February 28, 1991 with the liberation of Kuwait under US command).

The thumbnail of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 trailer shows coordinates. This is the exact location of Saddam Hussein’s palace. Hussein was the leader of Ba’athist Iraq. With this, Microsoft has confirmed that Call of Duty is indeed set in the Gulf War (because we don’t see them working with the 1980-88 Iraq-Iran war…), and another tweet says that he’s not the main antagonist, and since the truth is a lie according to the teaser website, will we be fighting a US president? George H. W. Bush? Maybe Bill Clinton? Or Osama bin Laden? The leakers didn’t really want to talk about that directly…
None of this is official yet, just like the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
