Ubisoft has released a detailed video guide on how to access Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Last Chapter once the final DLC is released early next month.
On Friday, Ubisoft released a detailed video guide on how to access Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Last Chapter. While many die-hard fans have likely already completed the prerequisites to unlock the game’s final DLC, the video just released serves as a sort of checklist for those who either haven’t returned to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla since its 2020 release, or have only recently started playing it. , but I want to know how Eivor’s story ends.
The final chapter is coming to the game as part of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update 1.62, which is scheduled to be released on December 6. The DLC will serve as an epilogue to Eivor’s story, which Ubisoft has been telling through Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for the past two years. A teaser from a few months ago confirmed that Eivor and Havi’s relationship will be revisited in The Last Chapter, although the developers refused to comment on the new storyline. While today’s video mentions that the protagonist will be reunited with “old friends and enemies” in this final mission, it doesn’t elaborate on that vague statement.
Instead, the rest of the video focuses on outlining the prerequisites for reaching The Last Chapter, of which there are four. The most time-consuming requirement is to complete the main storyline with all the territories of England swearing allegiance, which alone will probably take around 60 hours. Then there are the Asgard and Jotunheim quest lines, which can take up to ten hours each. Finally, players must eliminate all of the Order of the Ancients’ targets to reveal its leader and bring their settlement to level five – along with building Jomsviking’s barracks – before reaching the epilogue, the video reveals.
These last two requirements push the expected play time over 100 hours for those looking to access The Last Chapter. Whether or not this is a reasonable amount of time to put players through has been the subject of much debate in the fandom in recent years, with many players feeling that the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC was tedious.
Following the upcoming narrative closure of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft is turning to the conclusion of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The next installment in the long-running series was reportedly envisioned as a Valhalla DLC before the project expanded into a full-fledged sequel, which is slated for release sometime next year.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now on Amazon Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Google Stadia version of the game will remain playable until the service closes on January 18, 2023.
