Nintendo Switch 2: réussira-t-elle sur le marché américain? Le logo a-t-il fuité?

NINTENDO ACTUS – The Japanese company’s next-generation hardware is still under wraps, but that’s not really stopping the console discourse.

According to Mat Piscatella, an analyst at Circana (formerly NPD Group), if Nintendo releases the Nintendo Switch 2 (not yet an official name) in the first half of the year (by the end of June at the latest), the big N could sell a total of 4.3 million units in the US this year.

4.3 million sounds good, but it’s not such a good result: according to Piscatella’s prediction, it won’t be enough to put the Nintendo Switch 2 in the lead in the US. He thinks the PlayStation 5 will retain the top spot in the U.S. market, and there’s a reason for that: the PlayStation 5 Pro launched in November, and there could be a lot of interest in Sony’s half-generation console refresh this year as more and more games get PlayStation 5 Pro upgrades.

If the Nintendo Switch 2 launches in the first half of the year, Piscatella says there will be hardware limitations because there will be a lot of interest in the platform at launch, and therefore not everyone may have access to the console (though we also wrote that Nintendo is trying to prepare for the launch with a larger inventory…). Even now, the PlayStation 5 is still somewhat affected by the stock shortage. Even though the prices have gone up (no price reduction has been made so far, despite the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series more than four years ago), scalpers have tried to make a killing.

It’s no wonder that the Nintendo Switch 2 logo has appeared on Twitter. It will be something that seems logical, as it will be both familiar and new. It’s an excellent idea.
