Death Stranding 2 : On The Beach pourrait établir une nouvelle référence pour les exclusivités PlayStation

Hideo Kojima’s next game could set the tone for PlayStation exclusives in the future.

Graphically, Kojima Productions’ game is a masterpiece. Perhaps even more so than The Order: 1886 on PlayStation 4 (where the game ran between black bars…). There have been significant technological advances in recent years, and the Japanese studio is doing an excellent job, even if we couldn’t complain about the visuals of the first Death Stranding (and the sequel will surpass the first in every way).

The detail of the character models is one of the points that must be highlighted. Each one looks almost exactly like the actor (or actress) playing that character. You can even see the pores on Norman Reedus’ face, not to mention Lea Seydoux’s little freckle near her jawline. Add to that the motion digitization technology, and every character in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach can be seen as a human being because they move humanly, not mechanically. Then there’s the lighting, which Kojima Productions uses to bring out certain detailed textures on people, objects and areas. For example, when Sam Bridges walks towards the bright moon on the rocky terrain, it looks amazing.

And remember, it’s only 2024. Of course, they might have to cut back a bit on the visuals, because in several cases you see something in development that looks a lot nicer than what you can buy in the store. (Mostly Ubisoft was the trickster. Ten years ago, the Watch_Dogs example showed how much the French publisher lied). But it can also work the other way around: what if Kojima Productions can maintain this level of detail, and even take it a step further?

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will be released on PlayStation 5 in 2025.
